In a significant move towards preserving the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities, the Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Rajesh Narvekar is set to inaugurate the "Adivasi Bhavan" in CBD Belapur, a project funded from the development fund of MLA Mandatai Mhatre. This occasion will take place at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Maidan, located at Plot No. 13, Sector-8B, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 5.00 pm.
The "Adivasi Bhavan" is a tribute and commitment to nurture the cultural traditions of indigenous tribal communities living in remote and forested areas, preserving their customs and unique way of life. These tribal communities, often living in isolation, have distinct cultures that remain untouched by the influences of urban society.
MLA Manda Mhatre, whose development fund made this project possible, expressed the importance of creating a dedicated space for tribal brothers to celebrate their traditional events and hold community meetings. Responding to the request, the "Adivasi Bhavan" was constructed in Sector-8B, CBD Belapur, ensuring that tribal communities have a place to nurture and share their cultural practices”.
To mark the inauguration, a cultural program titled "Warasa Majha Maharashtrachacha" will be presented by Kamal Anand Kala Manch and Aashimik Kamthe. This program will highlight the unique struggles, traditional dances, and folk dances that are an integral part of the tribal lifestyle. MLA Manda Mhatre has extended a warm invitation to the citizens to attend the program in large numbers, emphasizing the need to appreciate and celebrate the cultural diversity of the region.
The inauguration of the "Adivasi Bhavan" is expected to create a sense of joy and pride among the tribal communities. It stands as a symbol of cultural preservation and a step towards ensuring that the traditions and customs of these indigenous communities are passed down to future generations, said Narvekar.
